AVG Free Anti-Virus
Sometimes, free is better. This anti-virus program doesn’t take over your entire computer like others do!
CutePDF Writer
Creating PDF files from documents is free and easy: just click Print and select the CutePDF Printer!
FireFox
Can’t believe there was a time I didn’t like this browser. Now every one of its features are part of my everyday web browsing. Its power is in its add-ons (like FireFTP, a handy FTP program built right into your browser). You choose what you want, and don’t bother to install the rest. (My favorite? Adblock Plus. I disable it on personal websites that, like mine, pay the internet bill with advertising. But I wouldn’t want to be browsing FaceBook or the rest of the web without blocking those nasty ads.)
Google Chrome
It’s my secondary browser. It’s not above FireFox in my mind, but it provides a clean, sleek, browsing experience–and serves as the browser for all my secondary account logins. (Don’t forget the Chrome AdBlock extension–and don’t forget to add my URL to your excluded sites list!)
Microsoft Security Essentials
Another great free anti-virus program, that does everything automatically.
Paint.NET
Free photo-editing software that’s free and amazing–and has more features than I’ve yet learned to use.
Picasa
It thinks like I do when it comes to organizing digital photos…
SwagBucks
A search engine that rewards you with gift cards for random, everyday normal web searches? A must have!
Thunderbird
I finally decided to give it a try again after reading this article in Christian Computing Magazine. The only thing I miss about Outlook? The ability to click the from line, type a letter, and have it take me to the first sender’s name that starts with that letter. And I haven’t quite figured out task reminders in Lightning yet.
Windows Live Writer
An easy-peasy post-writing tool for bloggers.
