I blog because I love it — not because it makes me money. Yes, it’s nice when I get a check from the BlogHer ad network or am surprised to find a deposit from Amazon Associates in my bank account, but compared to the hours spent, it’s not really “making” money. Usually, in the grand scheme of things, it’s cents rather than dollars that I make. But, every little bit helps.
The BlogHer ads in the sidebar help pay for our internet connection. (Pretty please turn off your ad blocker when you’re visiting my site?)
We buy our gifts with Amazon gift cards thanks to SwagBucks. Try out the SwagBucks search, and have fun earning Amazon gift cards just for searching for the things you search for every day! (Hint: Slightly misspelling things helps earn SwagBucks.)

When you click on Amazon links on this site or use the Amazon search box in my sidebar, I make a few cents here and there for your clicks and your purchases.
And, I even get free books from publishers just for reviewing them here on my blog:

NetGalley: Digital galleys for professional readers
Speaking of books — PaperBackSwap is a great way to get books for just the cost of a media mail package! We add them to our auto request list and are amazed at the treasures we get to add to our shelves this way.

We’ve even gotten a few of our favorite artist’s CDs off of CD Swap:

I’m also an affiliate for my web host, Blue Host — as well as for HostGator, another awesome host I highly recommend. So if you happen to decide to use them (both are fabulous for WordPress users, especially HostGator), please sign up using my affiliate links here! And, if you’re just looking for domains, I love using NameCheap for purchasing additional domains — they’re fast, easy, and have free privacy guard!
