see

When I look at my son, I see his daddy.  When I see my son’s smile, it’s my brothers all over again.

When I look at my husband’s profile, I see the profile of his dad and his grandfather.  When my husband smiles, it’s his grandpa’s military picture smiling back at me.

When I look at the face of my oldest, I see her daddy.  I see my younger daughter wrinkle up her nose when she smiles and it’s like looking in a mirror.

And when I look in the mirror, what do I see?  I know I’m looking more like my mom all the time.

But what is it that other people see when they look at me?  Despite my sister’s and my differing hair, everyone can tell we’re sisters.  They even tend to get confused and think I look like my mother-in-law’s daughter.

But what I really want people to see is a family resemblance that goes beyond bloodlines.

I’m praying they’ll see my Father in me…

  1. I haven’t heard this song in a long while. Thanks for sharing the video clip.

Miss G, you have a way of saying big things with few words… a skill and talent that is very foreign to me.

    Blessings.

  2. I’m a Paul Overstreet fan 馃檪

That is my greatest desire too; that when people see me, my life and how I live it, they would see Jesus.

  3. Your post on See was beautiful. Since I’m adopted I don’t know who I resemble from my earthly family, but I too desire to resemble my heavenly Father.

    Many blessings in Christ…Susan

  4. Scanning through the Gypsy Momma link up and recognized your ‘little pink house’. 馃檪 Thanks for the reminder of the importance of others seeing HIM in us. 馃檪
