The snow outside is a permanent part of our décor this winter, making it even more cozy to stay inside and work on the interior look of our home.
I can’t wait until I get the dusting done so I can take pictures of all the new arrangements on our walls! I’m also dying to show you what we’ve been working on for ylcf.org, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer (patience has never been my strong point
).
But in the meantime, I wanted to tell you all about the new décor here at littlepinkhouse.net!
Our header features my beloved antique Corona typewriter: not only is it mini, but it’s foldable! It must have been the “laptop” of typewriters in its era. On the other side of the header is our own dear mailbox, piled high with snow that first winter of our marriage—just as it is again this winter.
And in the middle is our beloved pink house as it looked that first summer. My husband would like to be sure the general public is aware that that our house is no longer pink, it has two more rooms added to it, and we hope to paint the siding green next year! But I know you all understand why I like having the pink picture in the header to stay, even if it is a bit outdated. ![]()
The new blog background is a stack of our love letters to each other—the same background we used for our wedding invitation!
And the blog button is a postage stamp featuring our own little pink house:
Grab the stamp for your sidebar here, if you like:
Now you know the story behind the décor. But be sure to check out all the links in the navigation bar, too. I’m actively updating the links, the likes, the tech links, and all the many web-ish details in the sites section.
Until tomorrow, have fun checking out our new look if you haven’t already!
P.S. If you can’t see the BlogHer ad in my sidebar, please do set your ad blocking program to allow ads on http://littlepinkhouse.net—those ads are the way we finance our internet access! ![]()

I loved hearing the story behind your decor. Your typewriter is cool! (I know it sound cliche’ but it’s true!)
I am still totally in love with the stamps. SO CUTE!!! And at the moment, as far as YLCF is concerned…patience isn’t a strong point either!
Very cute, Gretchen. I love reading your posts! Excited to see what’s on YLCF too.
I am only able to view about 1/3 of your header. Cannot see the wntire header. Any suggestions ?
I know my connection is fine, since I can view other blogs.
Not good. Anyone else having this problem? It’s fine on all my browsers…but I’ll try to look into it if I can get some details on browsers and screen res.
The browser I am using is AOL, American Online. I am using a laptop and have 10-11 inch laptop, with approximately 8 1/2 X 11 1/4 inch screen (height X width). I also checked for screen resolution, it is 1024 X 768 (width X height).
Found a helpful website, go to http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com, once click on it, it automatically tells you the screen resolution and gives a link to Microsoft if you need additional information. Use this instead of going through right click properties settings etc.
I’m sorry, CJ, all I can tell is that it must be since you have an AOL browser. My friends with screen resolutions closer to yours can see it fine on other browsers, as well.
